Hi, I'm Alison!
I'm passionate about helping K–2 teachers feel confident and prepared — especially when it comes to their students with learning differences.
I've been working in schools since 2005 as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, reading specialist, and Director of Curriculum & Instruction. I have a master's degree in literacy leadership, am trained in the Orton-Gillingham method, and am a CERI certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist (C-SLDS).
I'm also the author of The Phonics Playbook, and my writing materials have been used by over 24,000 teachers. I firmly believe that every teacher can make a big impact on the life and success of students with learning differences — when they have the right tools.
